NEDC Distributes 624,000 Food and Non-Food Items to Northeastern State

North East Development Commission, NEDC has launched the distributions of Food and Non-food items to the North-East States in Maiduguri on Saturday.

North eastern state comprises six states including Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe States

The flag off ceremony which was held at the Borno State Government House Multipurpose Hall had in attendance Northeastern State Governors, Senators, House of Representatives, State Government Secretaries, Royal Highness, among others.

Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, flagged off the distributions and commissioning of projects in the state.

Part of the NEDC’s mandate “Is charged with the responsibility of, among other things.Receiving and managing fun allocated by the Federal Government and International Donors for the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration, and construction of roads, houses and business premises of victims of insurgency as well as tackling the menace of Poverty, illiteracy, ecological problems and any other related environmental or developmental challenges in the North-East State, and related matters

The items were:

1. 240,000 25kg Bags of Rice
2. 71,000 Cartoon of Macaroni/Spaghetti
3. 34,500 Gallons of Vegetable Oil
4. 70,000 Blankets
5. 70,000 Mats
6. 74,500 Shadda (Men)
7. 34,000 Wrappers (Women)
8. 70,000 Children Wear
