The Director -in- charge of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mrs. Esther Kwaghe, unveils logo for 2020 Bible Quiz Competition recently at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
Mrs Esther Kwaghe commended the Israeli Embassy for sustaining the competition stating that NCPC would continue to give its full support working with the Israeli Embassy to ensure the success of the contest.
Earlier, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Shimon Ben-Shosan, while speaking at the occasion said, this year’s theme has been chosen to mark 60 years of good diplomatic relation and friendship between Israel and Nigeria.
He added that the theme of this year’s contest is aimed at bringing people together and further unites the good relationship between Nigeria and Israel, by affecting people’s daily life.
He informed that the competition had started in Israel years ago and has been sustained with pride by the Israeli’s expressing their joy that Nigerians have accepted it and are sustaining it considering its educational benefits.
The General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Barrister Joseph Daramola, expressed his delight over the Bible contest that has come to stay and promised that CAN would continue to support this noble programme. According to him, “before the week runs out I will personally ensure the advert has been sent out to all CAN offices in state to be broadcasted in churches all run Nigeria so that the registration will be enmasse.”
The competition as usual would be held in three stages at the states, Zonal and national with two finalists from each stage proceeding to the next level in order to compete against others.
The first two stages will be internet based and the final stage will be handwritten. The final will be held in Abuja in November.
The annual contest is being organized in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Education, Christians United for Israel and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
