As a way of sensitizing members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on the ills of the planned protest against the administration of President Bola Tinubu, a group of 5 former federal lawmakers from Oyo State met with youth leaders of the party today, Tuesday 30th July.
The meeting which held at the party’s permanent secretariat at Oke-Ado area of Ibadan discussed the way forward on the state of the nation.
Hon K K Raji who briefed journalists, said he and his other colleagues decided to take the bull by the horn in order to sensitize on the dangers of the planned protest.
According to him, “We can no longer fold our arms and allow things happen. Yes, you can say we are members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
For some of us who are on this team, we are aware that President Bola Tinubu means well for the country but upon getting into office, he met a lot of mess that needed to be cleaned before any serious work could be done.
This is not a matter of shifting blame. As an experienced and tested administrator, he is aware he would meet something like these but then it will take some time for the positive effect begin to manifest.
It is fortunate that we have President Tinubu in the saddle at this point in time. Only experienced people like him can turn things around.
“And that is why we are trying to sensitize against the planned protest. Nobody is afraid of protest so far it is violence-free. But for someone who is just one year into the administration, it is not fair.
We are very sympathetic towards the people and we are very aware that things are tough at this time but we implore our people to give the president more time to put Nigeria back in shape.
These things we complain of didn’t happen at once. It was gradual. We are confident Nigeria would be great under President Bola Tinubu.
