The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has intensified efforts to strengthen collaboration with the Osun State Government ahead of its 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to hold from April 14 to 18, 2026.

During a courtesy visit to the Osun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday, the NANTA Vice President, Western Zone, Prince Abiodun Olaleye Ajiibade, led a delegation of executive members and representatives of the Osun State chapter to engage with the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Abiodun Ojo.
Ajiibade used the visit to formally notify the state government of the upcoming AGM and solicited its support, stressing the importance of strategic partnership in sanitising the travel and tourism industry, strengthening professionalism, and protecting the welfare of members.
In his response, the Commissioner welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke to the growth of tourism in Osun State. He highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at positioning the state as a prime tourism destination in Nigeria.
Ojo also pledged his attendance at the AGM, assuring that the Ministry would be fully represented while extending goodwill messages to the current Western Zone executives of the association.
Following the visit, the delegation proceeded to the Osun State chapter meeting, where new executives were formally sworn in after their nomination and unanimous acceptance by members.
Mrs. Margaret Ajayi of Ruthcom Travels emerged as the State Coordinator, alongside other executives including JP Travels as Vice Coordinator, Bakare Akeem of Dudu Travels as Secretary, Segun Olanrewaju Ajibade of Ajibcrown Travels as Treasurer, and Kudomi Oladimeji of KS Travels as Public Relations Officer.
In her inaugural address, Ajayi expressed appreciation to the outgoing leadership and emphasized unity, professionalism, and collective responsibility among members. She outlined her administration’s priorities to include promoting ethical and environmentally friendly travel practices, encouraging eco-tourism, and ensuring continuous training for members.
She also stressed the need to support local communities, preserve cultural heritage, and uphold high standards of service delivery, transparency, and traveler safety.
The day’s activities, according to a statement by the Western Zone Public Relations Officer, Adewale Adegoke Dada, strengthened ties between NANTA and the Osun State Government while reinforcing unity within the state chapter ahead of the landmark AGM.
