The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies NANTA has officially announced it’s election time table in conformity with the Constitution of the same association.
The umbrella body and Oldest Travel association in the country said this during an interview with the National Treasurer Dr. Dagunduro Olatokunbo who doubles as the electoral Chairperson, he disclosed this yesterday in a interview with our correspondent. He explained that the approval of this constitutional process was made by the National Executive Council under the leadership of the National President Mrs. Susan Akporiaye. Dagunduro said the nomination forms have been rolled out for both National and zonal elections and the zonal nomination closed on the 17th January 2022 while that of the national nomination will close on the 11th of March 2022.
Lagos Zone holds election on the 10th of February 2022 in Lagos.
Eastern Zone holds election on the 15th of February 2022 in Port Harcourt.
Northern Zone holds election on the 22nd of February 2022 in Kano
Abuja Zone holds election on the 23rd of February 2022 in Abuja.
Western Zone holds election on the 24th of February 2022 in Ibadan.
The following portfolio will be contested for in accordance with the provision of the constitution
Vice President, Zonal Secretary, Zonal Treasurer, Zonal Financial Secretary, Zonal Public Relations Officer, Zonal Internal Auditor.
For National Portfolio he stated that the following will be keenly contested at the Floor of the Annual General Meeting in Kano on the 25th of March 2022.
National President, Deputy President 1, Deputy President 2, National Treasurer, National Financial Secretary, National Public Relations Officer, National Internal Auditor.
He further stated that NANTA is one of the most organized association in the downstream sector of the Aviation and Tourism industry in Nigeria and such status must be Maintained as members are prepared to elect vibrant members that will lead us in the next two years.
The National President in her speech encouraged all members to participate in this task of electing credible and dedicated leaders that they believe will advance the progress of the association.
She further stated that we should eschew bigotry and destructive campaign rather embrace healthy campaign and not to forget that we are a professional body and not a political party. Akporiaye said it is the responsibility of all members to be part of this exercise, she promised that AGM will be a worthwhile event and the Kano state Government is ready and in full support to ensure Kano State will be of good memory to members to host the AGM.
