National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies NANTA Western Zone has felicitate with Engineer Makinde and other elected governors of Ogun and kwara on their re-election.
The association which covers six states including Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo Kwara and Ekiti also congratulated the elected Federal and state lawmakers in all the states.
In a statement signed by the Zonal Vice president Otunba Babatunde Adesokan, NANTA said the governors should embrace a policy and programs that will drive domestic tourism.
” All the states in the western zone are endowed with humongous tourism potentials that can drive revenue and create wealth so they should not just allow those money spinning valuables to waste away.
While maintaining that NANTA is ready to partner with relevant stakeholders and government to develop and promotes tourism and culture in the states, Adesokan advocated for creation of separate ministry for culture and tourism, by doing this there will be more concentration and rapid growth of the sector.
Otunba Adesokan added that governors should consider some members as cabinet members, assistants or advisers on tourism sector for efficiency and development.
He however wish them a successful tenure and pray for the total development of the zone in the next administration.
