The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counterterrorism and counter-banditry operations nationwide, carrying out a series of precision airstrikes that have neutralized Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and destroyed several bandit enclaves across northern Nigeria.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the coordinated air missions targeted ISWAP strongholds in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State, as well as bandit hideouts in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State, and Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to the statement, the strikes mark a decisive phase in ongoing joint operations under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA, both aimed at dismantling terrorist and criminal networks across Nigeria’s northern theatres.
Ejodame noted that the successful precision strikes across Borno, Kwara, Katsina, and the wider northwestern corridor reflect NAF’s renewed operational tempo, in line with the directives of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
He reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to deploying smarter, intelligence-driven airpower to deliver effective and purposeful strikes against insurgents and criminals, while safeguarding the lives and property of citizens in a sustained effort to enhance national security.
