The South African Mzansi Youth choir and the Nobuntu, Zimbabwe’s Acapella Group, will be hosted this weekend by the Cable News Network (CNN) African Voices Playmakers.
The magazine programme is sponsored by digital solutions provider, Globacom.
The duo will entertain viewers as they tell stories of their incursion into the world of music in the 30-minute edition which will be broadcast on the DSTV Channel 401 on Saturday at 9.30 a.m.
Founded in 2003, Mzansi Youth Choir has the dream to use the power of music to bring hope, love, and happiness to the nation. “From humble beginnings in Soweto we began our journey and have captured the hearts of South Africans one performance at a time”, the group tells African Voices.
The Zimbabwean Nobuntu, a group of five sonorous female singers, became renowned for its joyous and celebratory performances of musical genres ranging from traditional Zimbabwean songs to Afro Jazz to Gospel.
African Voices Playmakers edition for the week will be repeated on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m.,12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Other repeats will be on Monday at 4.00 a.m. and on Tuesday and Wednesday in a 15-minute, two-part sessions at 6.45p.m.
