My Focus Now is to Deliver on 2019 Mandate not 2023 Election- Senator Kola Balogun

Senator Kola Balogun, lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly has said his focus now is delivering on the mandate given to him by people through 2019 election and 2023 election

Balogun who contested under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party PDP defeated the former governor of Oyo state late senator Abiola Ajimobi at the poll and tribunal

Speaking with journalists at a media parley in Ibadan on Thursday, Balogun said, he s much more concern about making remarkable impact in his constituency now and not 2023 election

” I am not worried about 2023, only God knows who will leave up to 2023, i am worried about the 2019 mandate, if it pleases God , let him give me 2023 all am concerned about now is to have a remarkable impact on my constituents.

The lawmaker said ” I have been able to facilitate N50billion revolving single digit credit loan to trade groups and many other things to better the lots of people in my constituency

Kola Balogun said further that he is instrumental to the upgrading of Ibadan Ibadan airport to international standard which is being considered.

Reacting to the critics of Seyi Makinde’s N100bn loan, the former commissioner for Trade Commerce and Investment said ” rather than condemning the act, they should have ask for transparency in the disbursement of the loan and monitor execution of projects the loan was meant for.

” Governor Seyi Makinde meant well for the state, he is contended and we need someone like him to govern the state, we are in this state before when a governor said there is no money to pay salaries, pensioners and no improvement on education, but here is a governor who is paying Salaries regularly, building infrastructure and spend more on education so where is he maufacturing the money from, Seyi Makinde will not steal Govt money but rather use it to make life better for the people of Oyo state.

“Our major critics APC are playing politics with life of people in Oyo state, they have not changed their style of politics of deception and biased criticism, Governor of many APC states are taking loans but they see Seyi Makinde’s decision to take loan as a sin

The lawameker however urge  journalists to sensitize and educate Nigerians on Voters education as well as politics of development.
