Former President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he remains a loyal member of the party and wishes to be recognized as such.

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, had in an interview related that his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) had the full blessing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement released by his Spokesperson , Garba Shebi on Wednesday, Buhari emphasized that he would never turn his back on the political platform that brought him to power for two consecutive terms. He also pledged to continue promoting the party in every way possible.

“I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularise the party by all means,” he said.

The former president expressed deep gratitude for the support he received from the party before and during his tenure, describing his time in office as the highest honor.

He also acknowledged the efforts of APC’s founding fathers in establishing a strong party to uphold the constitution and democracy, urging members to cherish and nurture those sacrifices.
