commends Gov Seyi Makinde's initiative and compliance of the 35% affirmative action

The Executive Chairman, Saki East LG, Hon. Rahmat Mosunmade Adeniran has emphasized increase in the involvement of women in politics especially in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The council boss who is also the first female elected Chairman of the Local Government, stated this recently while featuring on a weekly public enlightenment programme, “MY IMPACT” on ALOORE RADIO.

She stated that her programmes and activities are in line with the four-cardinal points agenda of His Excellency, Gov Seyi Makinde’s administration ranging from Infrastructure, Education, Health, Agriculture and Security.

She reiterated her efforts at resuscitating the abandoned ICT centre for free JAMB CBT classes for the youths in the LG area in order to improve on educational system.

She stressed that women are being empowered to be self-reliant with different types of working tools including sewing machines, hair dryers, baking kits and industrial cylinders and gas.

She added that security gadgets, van and motorcycles were provided for the Joint security network established within the Local Government Area for adequate security of lives and properties of the people especially on Saki- Iseyin road as travellers are being terrorized along this major road adding that Solar powered light were installed for people living at the hamlets within d LG in order to lighten up all the dark areas in the forest.

Hon Adeniran also pointed that retaining walls were built with hardcore on waterways in order to avert flooding in some parts of the LG area adding that some damaged roads have been rehabilitated for easy transportation of food stuffs within and to other parts of the State.

She also noted that the LG deals mainly in poultry farming which is also a boost to the revenues of the LG adding that livestocks are being vaccinated at interval for healthy consumption for the people of the LGA

She therefore stated that she ensures all these were carried out during her tenure in order to serve as eye-opener to women in the LG area saying that “What a man can do, a woman can even do better,” and to instill in them courage and selflessness.

She then urged His Excellency, the Executive Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde to increase the 35% affirmative action to 50% in the interest of having more women participation in governance.
