More Casualties Discovered as Identity of the Occupants of the Building With the Explosive Devices Exposed

More casualties have been discovered at the scene of the explosion which rocked Deji Oyelese street, Adeyi Old Bodija area, Ibadan Oyo state on Tuesday.

Governor Seyi Makide who was at the scene of the incident in the early hours of the day said 77 people were injured and 2 fatalities were recorded as at last night while the rescue operations continue.

But as at 11 am this morning, one corpse have been recovered and another injured person was rescued from the relics of the scenario.

Residents of the area said the house where the explosive devices exploded is occupied by a foreign nationals simply identified as Camara.

A resident who did not want his name in print told National Insight that Camara is a known miner and he do store explosives devices in his house and he has been warned severally to stop endangering the community.

The deputy Governor of Oyo state, Bar Bayo Lawal who was also at the scene employed people around to vacate the place for security operatives and frontline workers.

The whereabout of Camara is not known as at the time of filing this report but a lot of people are appealing to government to fish him out to face the sanction as well as investigate other miners who might have been storing such dangerous devices in residential areas.

Meanwhile, a former deputy governor of Oyo state Barrister Iyiola Oladokun has said that he and his family members can’t sleep in his house again.

Oladokun while speaking with journalists on Wednesday said that he and his family members cannot sleep in the house again as a result of the damaged done to the house.

He said that he and his wife were housed by a friend yesterday.

The former deputy governor while speaking further, noted that property worth millions of naira have been destroyed in his house as a result of the incident.

Oladokun said “I am one of the residents of Dejo Oyelese close. My house has been affected.

“We were just watching the football match when the explosion occured. All the doors that were closed were forced to opened.

“It is very devastating. All the doors, burglary, windows and even the roof have gone.

“We give glory to God that myself and my wife were not hurt.

“I am just coming back now, because we can’t sleep here again. We can’t sleep here yesterday. We have to use our phone to move out yesterday. We have to find somewhere to sleep yesterday”.
