The Mogaji of the Oguntegbe family in Labo, Ibadan, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Yemi Ogunyemi, the Baale of Oluyole and Vice Chairman of the Council of Traditional Baales in Ibadanland.
In a heartfelt condolence message issued on behalf of his family and the descendants of the Oguntegbe lineage, Mogaji Tegbe described the late Baale as a “pioneering media guru and veteran broadcaster” whose legacy continues to resonate in the hearts of many.
“Chief Ogunyemi’s legacy as a pioneering media guru and veteran broadcaster has left an indelible mark on our collective memory. His iconic Embalaya programme remains a cherished part of our cultural heritage, captivating audiences in the 80s and 90s,” Tegbe said.
He also extended his condolences to the Ogunyemi family, friends, and the entire Ibadan community, praying for comfort and strength during this period of mourning.
“May Chief Ogunyemi’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace. May his family find comfort in the cherished memories of his life, contributions, and enduring legacy,” he concluded.
