But there was a mixed feelings that the situation may returns if all the agreement reached were not fulfilled as at when due

A source at the institution told National Insight that ‘ Yes we are happy that we are back on campus but we are living on borrowed peace because  of the fear that there may be breach of agreement by the government

The source told our reporter further that part of the agreement was that there won’t be any strike until the end of the session  which will terminates around June 2017.

It would be recalled that the reschedule action started in September 2016 following the approval by the National body of the Union that the local chapter should proceed on  strike due to failure of the  management to  fulfill meet up with their demands  among which is funding of the institute as well as  regular payment of workers salary

The school was reopened   on January 27 after eight months closure due to workers’ stike over non-payment of salaries. But lecturers refused to resume stating that some of their demands were yet to be met by the Oyo and Osun state governments, who jointly own the university.

The  Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, on Youth and Students’ Affairs, Bolaji Afeez, had earlier told premiumtimes.com that  “We have done all necessary to ensure that the strike is called off and we look forward to ASUU calling off her strike tomorrow (Tuesday)”.

Residents of Ogbomoso and its environs are happy about the development as it will  restore life back into the hitherto deserted student residential area where economic activities have been very low and not encouraging
