Man ‘O’ War  Distances Selve From Yoruba Nation Agitators, Says Abefe Acted For Himself

Man ‘O’War Nigeria, Oyo State Command has distanced itself from the aborted illegal invasion of the state government Secretariat Agodi Ibadan by the Yoruba agitators.

Recall that on Saturday, 13th April, 2024 some suspected Yoruba Nation agitators clad in Military camouflage, masked up, armed with guns and various dangerous weapons, including Yoruba Nation flags and insignia stormed Oyo state government Secretariat Agodi with the aim of taking over the entire government edifice to pronounce the sovereignty of Yoruba Nation.

The agitators were repelled and arrested by the joint security operatives that was deployed to maintain peace, law and order at the scene.

One of the suspected agitators that was paraded at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan on Monday, Muritala Abefe, was arrested with Identity Card of Man ‘O’War.

While reacting to the development, Oyo State Commandant of Man ‘O’War, Alhaji Yekini Lukman Olanrewaju through a press statement that was issued and signed by the state Public Relation Officer of the Para Military Organization, AC Adebiyi Ademiluyi confirmed that Muritala Abefe is a member of the Man ‘O’War Nigeria, Oyo State Command but was not sent on any mission including that of Yoruba self- determination errand either the national office of the Man ‘O’War or the state Command office.

A copy of the statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State on Tuesday called the attention of the general public to the development, stressing that Muritala Abefe acted on his own capacity by participating in the illegal invasion of the state government Secretariat.

The statement further maintained that the attention of the Oyo State Command of Man ‘O War Nigeria has been drawn to some videos in circulation on the internet and the parading of those apprehended by the office of the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State regarding the activities of some vain individuals who attempted to hijack the Oyo State Secretariat on the 13th day of April, 2024.

“One Muritala Abefe, who is one of those captured in the videos in circulation and also paraded and on whom the identity card of Man ‘O War was found was one of our members but he acted on his own and never in his capacity as our member neither was his act an approved act by the Oyo State Command of Man ‘O War Nigeria.”

“In view of this, We therefore wish to condemn, and that in the strongest terms, their treasonable actions and we hereby disassociate the organization from the said illegal activity and action.”

“Man ‘O War Nigeria is not in any way a party to this shameful, nefarious, profane, ridiculous and treasonable act, and the said Muritala Abefe has been promptly dismissed from the organization with immediate effect following the sitting of an expanded disciplinary committee of our organization.”

“Man O War Nigeria is a disciplined, law abiding and regimented organization which focuses on youth development and is against any form of social vices. Our organization sees Nigeria as one peaceful indivisible nation.”

“The general public should please take notice that the said Muritala Abefe no longer represents the interest of Man ‘O War Nigeria and therefore ceases to be a member forthwith.” The state concluded.
