Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CEOAFRICA, has been honoured with the prestigious Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Award by the Council of Northern Youth Advocates of Nigeria (CNYAN). The event took place on October 4, 2025, at the council’s headquarters in Abuja.
The award, which recognizes Ilobanafor as the Garkuwan Matasan Arewa (Protector of Northern Youths), celebrates his remarkable contributions to national unity, youth empowerment, and nation-building.
Speaking during the presentation, the President of CNYAN reaffirmed the council’s commitment to tackling critical challenges facing Northern Nigeria, especially education. “We have called for an increase in budget allocation to education in Northern Nigeria,” he said. “This will help reduce the rising number of out-of-school children. The government must invest in education and ensure these children are taken off the streets, educated, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to society.”

Commending Prince Ilobanafor, the CNYAN President described him as a rare leader and visionary. “Having reviewed your track record, we can boldly say your life is not a predicament but a blessing to this generation and generations yet unborn,” he said. “We are ready to partner with you in your noble efforts to build a better Nigeria.”
Hon. Muhammed, a key member of the council, also hailed Ilobanafor’s contributions to nation-building and media excellence. “He has been instrumental in telling Africa’s stories in a better way and promoting unity through his platform,” he noted.
According to CNYAN, Ilobanafor’s nomination followed a rigorous selection process aimed at identifying individuals fostering peace, integration, and youth development. The citation on the award plaque reads:
“In appreciation of your immense contribution towards a united, one indivisible Nigeria. Being a vanguard of youth emancipation and serving as a bridge of national unity and consensus.”
In his acceptance speech, Prince Ilobanafor expressed deep gratitude to CNYAN for the honour, describing it as a recognition of collective efforts toward a better Nigeria. “I am honoured to receive this award from the youth of Northern Nigeria—the future leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
Beyond his media leadership, Ilobanafor highlighted his passion for eradicating malaria through strategic youth engagement. He announced that Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd had donated ₦1 billion to support the Geneith Health Competition, an initiative aimed at empowering students in secondary and tertiary institutions with knowledge about malaria prevention.
“We want to make young people ambassadors in the fight against malaria,” he said. “By empowering them, we move closer to a malaria-free Nigeria.”
He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prioritize youth development, emphasizing that “Nigerian youths are the nation’s greatest asset.” He added, “All we ask is to give the youth opportunities to serve. When we do that, Nigeria will become a better and more prosperous country.”
The ceremony, which brought together youth leaders and stakeholders from across the country, celebrated Ilobanafor’s commitment to unity, empowerment, and positive storytelling about Africa. His recognition stands as a testament to his enduring influence in promoting national cohesion and inspiring a new generation of leaders.
As Nigeria looks toward a brighter future, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor’s vision for youth empowerment and national unity continues to serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for millions.
