Popular gospel singer, broadcaster, and Chairman of Fresh FM Radio, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, was left stunned and emotional on Tuesday when Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, surprised him with a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), just days after a fire disaster ravaged his Music House in Ibadan.
Ayefele, who has been counting his losses following the inferno that gutted sections of the Fresh FM complex, was visibly moved as the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, handed him the keys to the SUV.
Governor Makinde, during the presentation at the Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, praised the broadcaster for his resilience and contributions to the entertainment industry and media growth in Oyo State.
Otunba Ojo, who was joined by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, and Media Adviser to the Governor Dr Sulaiman Olanrewaju described Ayefele as “a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.”
It will be recalled that Governor Makinde had visited the station last Sunday, barely a day after the inferno, to commiserate with Ayefele and assess the extent of the damage.
