Oyo State Government has flagged off the distribution of the much-expected palliatives package at Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa zone of the state.
Some of the items, which will be distributed to people in different local government areas, were garri, yam flour, beans and vegetable oil.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Taiwo Adisa, jhad on Monday, assured that the palliatives are readily available, adding that each zone in the state will get its share this week.
Flagging off the event, the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, said that the distribution of the palliatives stemmed from the fact that businesses of people have been affected alongside means of livelihood.
Also speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Oyo state Commissioner for Special duties, Honourable Bayo Lawal, stated that the distribution would be done through a technical database for the targeted households.
2, 836 households are expected to benefit from the palliatives whose presentations were witnessed by Speaker of the House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, Commissioners including the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede including religious clerics and others.
