Make Tourism Development Part of Agenda NANTA Tells Guber Candidates

.National Association of Nigerian Trave Agencies NANTA Western Zone has urged governorship candidates contesting 2023 election to make include tourism development in their plans.

The Zonal Vice President of the organization, Otunba Babatunde Adesokan who frowned at the slow phase of development and promotion of domestic tourism said any government that doesn’t include tourism plan in his agenda is not worthy of being supported.

The National association of Nigeria Travel Agencies is the umbrella body of all travels and tours in Nigeria with corporate membership strength of over 50,000 in the western zone and over 3,000 in Oyo state alone

In a chat with journalists, In Ibadan, Adesokan said tourism development will enhance revenue generation and job oppurtunities so it is in the best interest of any governor to prioritize tourism.

” Over the years we have been making frantic efforts to enlighten those in government on the need to develop tourism ,some are responding by providing infrastructural and upgrading some tourism sites but majority are yet to take serious steps in that direction and we are appealing to them to adjust and promote domestic tourism.

” There is no state in the Southwest that is not endowed with tourism potentials we are ready to collaborate with any government that is ready to develop travel and tourism industry”

He also urged Stakeholders in the industry to also considered increasing investment in the industry.
