The Legacy Star of Ibadan, LSI has slated a 5-day activities to celebrate the anniversary of her twenty years of the clubβs establishment.
The club which is an affiliate of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes made this development known during a press briefing with newsmen at the Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, Ibadan Oyo state capital of Saturday.
Briefing newsmen on the activities for the 5-day long celebration, the President of Legacy Star of Ibadan, LSI, Mogaji Saheed Abiola Oyewale noted that the grand finale of the celebration will be held on Saturday, 25th of May, 2024 at the Function Hall, Jogor Centre, Ibadan.
Fuji Music Legend, Alh. Abass Akande Obesere will be the entertainer for the day.
The president in his brief stated that the events which officially commenced with the press briefing include thanksgiving service at Methodist Church, Wesley Elekuro, and a friendly match between members of the club and The Royal Group, TRG at Olubadan Stadium.
He added that the program will feature rural medical outreach at Ajanla Village on Thursday, 23rd of May, 2024 and a Jumaat service at Ahmadiyya movement in Islam, Idikan, Ibadan next Friday.
The club which boast of remarkable contribution to the development of Ibadan and Oyo State in general in the last 20 years added that the grand finale scheduled for Saturday, 25th of May will feature an inter-secondary school debate competition to boost public speaking skills for students in 10 public secondary schools in the state capital.
The event will be chaired by the Chairman of Jogor Centre, Engr. Femi Babalola FNSE.
The Special Guests of Honour
Includes Oloye Engr. Dotun Sanusi, The Jagun Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Chairman of Ilaji resorts, The Agbaoye of Ibadan land, Agbaoye Kola Karim.
The Chief Guest of Honour for the celebration, is the President General CClI, Barr. Chief Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole.
Other guest includes the former President General CCII, Chief Mustapha Adebayo Oyero, Mrs. Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja, Hon. Akin Oladejo
Legacy Star Ibadan was established in 2004 following an initiative of ibadan born students studying in reputable tertiary institutions.
The club which is an affiliate club of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) started with 6 members who were formerly members of the Federation of Ibadan Student Union (FIBSU).
