Family members of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), on Thursday paid a congratulatory visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his residence on Ondo Street, Bodija, Ibadan.
Oba Ladoja warmly received the delegation and expressed gratitude for their show of solidarity. He described the visit as a continuation of the long-standing bond between the two royal families, noting their shared commitment to promoting Ibadan’s cultural heritage and strengthening the city’s traditional system.
“I am overwhelmed by your visit, which is not a surprise to me since we have been together for quite a long time, particularly as members of the same royal family. Moving Ibadanland forward is a collective responsibility, and all hands must be on deck, both at home and in the diaspora, to ensure the progress of our city,” Oba Ladoja said.
Speaking earlier, the Aremo to the late Olubadan, Barr. Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin, congratulated Oba Ladoja on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. He prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, and long life for the monarch.
“We are here not only to extend our congratulations but also to pledge our solidarity, support, and unalloyed loyalty. We stand ready to respond to your clarion calls in the pursuit of peace, unity, and progress in Ibadanland,” Barr. Olakulehin said.
Other members of the delegation included Dr. Osuolale, Prince (Alhaji) Adekunle Owolabi Olakulehin, Alhaji Ramoni Alabi, and several others.
