The executive chairman of Lagelu local government , Oyo state Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem ha releases two hundred (200) acres of land for agricultural development
The local government had recently sent sixty of its indigenes and residents, otherwise described as the “Lagelu-60″, to partake in the Oyo State Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness Project (YEAP) for two weeks intensive agricultural trainings, at the CSS Global Integrated Farms Ltd, Nassarawa State.
According to a statement signed by his media adviser Ayo J Salami, the 60 participants arrived Nassadawa Safely
Announcing the two hundred (200) acres of lands on Tuesday, the council chairman maintained that, Lagelu local government being originally an agrarian society, agriculture and agricultural produce remains a big area of comparative advantage to the political economy of the local government.
Appraising the efforts of the State government in agricultural development, demonstrated through the Agribusiness Project and the Redevelopment of Farm Estates policies— Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem had submitted that_”The State government has only continue to play its role in enhancing the agricultural potentials of the State, and all that remains, and are required of the governments at the grassroots, is to start rolling out complementary efforts”.
“Following the official announcement of these (200) acres of lands, we expect the “Lagelu-60″ to come back home from the CSS Global in Nassarawa State, at the completion of their trainings.— We expect them to come back home fully equipped with all necessary skills that will add up to our comparative advantage in farming. And then the distribution the lands that we had already set aside for cultivation will outrightly commence upon their arrival” Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem avers.
