Madam Felicia Ayoola, popularly known as Women leader, a labourer with Dollar Construction Ltd recieved the shock of her life when she was announced as the star prize winner of a Camry car for her dedication and commitment to Dollar Construction company in Ibadan.
Prize award is the end of year event for Dollar Construction which is an avenue to appreciate dedicated and loyal staff for their commitment as well as celebrate the founder, Engineer Lamidi Idowu’s Birthday.
It was surprising to many including her co workers when Madam Felicia’s name was announced as the winner of the car not because they didn’t have an inkling that she was due for a gift, but because they believed that such prize is meant for the senior workers
Two people were presented with motorcycle while three other member of staff were presented with cash reward ranging from N500, to N1million naira.
Speaking with National Insight, The woman leader as she is foundly called said, she didn’t expect such reward because she was just working to feed her family and make ends means.
” I joined the company as a labourer at Dollar phase 1, and i was paid N2500 pay day later i was moved to aerodrome phase 11, later my pay day was increases to N50000, and i make sure i do come to work everyday, even when there is no work, i do come, just to identify with this company and show commitment not knowing that a reward is coming
Asked what she was doing before joining the company, Madam Felicia said ‘ i was selling provisions and daily need before, but when my son has an accident we expended all trading funds on it so instead of sitting at home and be begging for help i decided to work as a labourer.
While presenting the vehicle on behalf of the company Chief Abraham Agboola, Chairman AB motors saif he was delighted that that Madam Felicia is the winner of the gift car gift
” i do watch this woman also and each time i come her i encourage her not to allow anything to discourage her or lure her into something that is not dignifying, she is a committed and responsible worker. i challenge others to emulate her doggedness and commitment.
Engineer Lamidi idowu Lamidi said the beneficiaries were selected base on merit and more people will be rewarded next year by God’s Grace. He attributed the slow phase of work to the change of government and promised that things will pick up as from next year .
The Oyo born prince added that those who are yet to benefit should not be discouraged but be hopeful that very soon it will be their turn.
Some of the dignitaries at the event describe Engineer Lamidi as a generous and caring person who is passionate about others growth.
