KWASU Lecturer Dr Dotun Faluyi Dies at 53

The Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, with deep  sorrow and a heavy heart regrets to announce the death of Dr. Oludotun Omoniyi Faluyi.

Until his death, he was a Lecturer of Physics in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science. He died at the age of 53 on Friday, 10th September, 2021 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan after a brief illness.

The Vice Chancellor on behalf of Management, staff and students of the University wishes to express heartfelt condolences to the members of his immediate family and the entire members of the  University community on this great loss.

Director, University Relations  Abdulrazaq Sanni in a statement said late Dr. Faluyi who hailed from Ilesa, Osun State joined the service of the University on 18th October, 2010.

He was the only Physics Lecturer in the University for about two years and the first to obtain PhD in the field while lecturing in KWASU.

The deceased, whose area of specialisation was Geophysics, was Head of Physics Department until 2014.

He obtained B.Sc (1994), M.Sc(1998) and PhD(2017) all from University of Ibadan.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Febisara Faluyi and four children.

Details of his burial will be announced by his family in due course.
