A traditional ruler, Baale John Adeshina Onifade of Onifalade village in Surulere local government area of Oyo state was on saturday kidnapped by unknown gunmen
The monarch who was enthroned on october 11, 2018 was freed after spending more that 12 hours with the kidnappers.
Speaking to journalist about the incident, Baale Onifade said ” At about 8 pm some people dressed in Army Uniform came into my house and forcefully took me away, they said ransom has been paid for my life
” They cut part of my Agbada to cover my face and took me into the bush,l and we embark on a journey into an unknown destination”
” This morning, they left me and ask me to go, i found myself a community in Orrire local government”
Asked if he can identify any of his abductors, the monarch said i cannot identify any of them, they came in the night, they were bled by a fulani and those who took me away were in Army uniform”
The monarch commended the effort of Officers of Nigeria Police, SARS and others who swing into action immediately the news of his kidnapped reached them.
