Veteran Fuji musician, King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa, has officially withdrawn the legal case filed against controversial street-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.

In a press statement released on Sunday, Osupa’s management confirmed that the decision to end the legal action was made on the personal instruction of the Fuji star, who was moved by public appeals and Portable’s ongoing legal troubles.

The suit, originally filed by Osupa’s team, alleged defamation and violation of intellectual property rights by Portable. According to the statement, the move was meant to “set a precedent” against misconduct within the music industry, especially among younger artists.

However, interventions from notable Nigerians, including Alhaji Ahmad Lawal of Lahmad Concepts, Saheed Ibile of Harmony Holdings, Alhaji Fatai Lajero representing the Olufimo Royal Parliament, and Alhaji Waheed Ogunsesan, National President of the Olufimo Fans Club, swayed Osupa’s decision.

“While accountability is essential, mercy, too, is a pillar of leadership,” the statement read. “Osupa hopes that this moment will serve as a turning point in Portable’s life and career.”

As part of the resolution, Portable is expected to publicly retract claims made against Osupa, including statements suggesting the Fuji icon would be responsible if anything happened to him. He must also refute his lawyer’s claim that he physically begged Osupa for forgiveness—a meeting Osupa insists never occurred. Additionally, Portable is to sign an undertaking committing to refrain from cyberbullying and defamation.

The management warned that failure to meet these conditions could lead to the reinstatement of the case.
