The lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, on Saturday commissioned the Ikorodu Town Hall ICT Centre and flagged off the 7.5km Agbede–Ita Oluwo Road project in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The ICT Centre, described as a state-of-the-art digital hub, is equipped with 150 laptops, alternative power supply, CCTV, internet facilities, and training capacity for youths. Benson said the centre was designed to empower young people with 21st-century digital skills, boost innovation, enhance job readiness, and position them for global competitiveness.
On the same day, the federal lawmaker launched the construction of the Agbede–Ita Oluwo Road project, a long-awaited intervention expected to improve connectivity, ease transportation, attract investments, and stimulate economic activities in Ikorodu communities.
Benson noted that both projects were in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasises delivering life-changing infrastructure and opportunities for Nigerians.
“Our duty at the Federal House of Representatives is to align with this vision, ensuring that Ikorodu Federal Constituency remains a direct beneficiary of good governance, infrastructure, and youth empowerment,” Benson said.
He expressed gratitude to Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, who commissioned the ICT Centre; the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) led by Arch. Taiwo Kara for its partnership; Lagos Assembly members Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (Ikorodu I) and Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (Ikorodu II) for their support; and other leaders and stakeholders across the division who graced the events.
Benson commended the Agbede community, its Community Development Associations (CDAs), and the Ikorodu North LCDA leadership for their resilience and contributions, assuring that the constituency’s development agenda would continue to prioritise both infrastructure and human capital growth.
“Together, we are rewriting Ikorodu’s story – from roads that connect our people to centres that connect our youths to the world,” the lawmaker said.
