“Let me take a moment to introduce our great Club, Jericho Businessmen Club JBC, to those who probably are coming in contact with us for the first time. JBC is a club of upwardly mobile Ibadan indigenes established about 21 years in Lagos. Our vision is to be the club of first choice for Ibadan sons who are committed to transforming Ibadanland into the epitome of development in Nigeria. We salute the vision, passion and courage of the pioneering members and past Presidents of the Club, starting from the first President, Chief Adeyemi Soladoye (Ekerin Baameto of Ibadan Land) to the immediate past president for bringing the Club to this enviable position in the comity of Clubs in Ibadan and The State in general
“Over the years, we have contributed and supported immensely in the areas of social, economic, healthcare and educational sectors of Ibadanland. This is through the execution of numerous developmental programmes to various communities and the empowerment of active artisans and vulnerable indigenes.
“We are committed to doing more and make our impact felt even beyond the town. We are committed to the industrial transformation of our dear state and addressing head-on the hydra-headed issue of youth unemployment. To this end, we are willing to collaborate with the State and will require the support and assistance of the government to actualize this.
“As enunciated above, JBC has been fulfilling its cardinal object of giving back to the society through the execution of various projects like scholarship awards, upgrading of health centres and provision of medical facilities, sinking of boreholes in schools, provision of loans to artisans and petty traders, etc. However, this event was put together in honour of our members because of our strong belief in celebrating our own people. I wish to place on record that we had, in the past, organized a similar successful event where some of our members were hosted. God’s willing, we shall continue to roll out the drums for our members. Tonight affords us another opportunity to show case some of the best and the brightest in JBC,
