JCI Ibadan began the 2026 administrative year on a strong and reflective note with the successful hosting of its first business meeting, welcoming members, past leaders, and distinguished guests to an afternoon of connection, learning, and renewed purpose.
The meeting held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at The Willows Hotel (formerly BON Nest Hotel), Bodija, Ibadan, and was hosted by the 2026 President of JCI Ibadan, JCIN Ambassador Seun Ayedogbon. The atmosphere was one of optimism and shared responsibility as members gathered to officially set the tone for the year ahead.
A major highlight of the meeting was the presence of the JCI Nigeria National President, JCIN Ambassador Akinbode Abitogun, who attended as the Special Guest. His presence underscored the importance of the chapter’s role within the national organization and set a tone of alignment with JCI Nigeria’s vision for the year, it also served as a reminder of the importance of unity within the JCI family nationwide.
The meeting also featured a thoughtful and experience-rich training session facilitated by JCI Senator Muyiwa Bamgbose, President of JCI Ibadan (1984/1985). Drawing from years of leadership and service, he engaged participants on leadership values, continuity, Strategic alignment, and the responsibility of sustaining the legacy of JCI across generations.
In a moment of recognition and appreciation, JCI Senator Sina Adegunle, President of JCI Ibadan (1998/1999), was celebrated as the Personality of the Month for January. The recognition acknowledged his enduring contributions to leadership, business development and mentorship within JCI.
One of the most striking moments of the meeting was the strong presence of past leaders. Eleven Past Presidents of JCI Ibadan were in attendance, out of a total of forty-eight past presidents of the chapter. Their presence added depth to the gathering, reflecting the strong culture of mentorship, continuity, and respect for institutional memory that defines JCI Ibadan.
The January Business Meeting was more than a routine gathering. It served as a reminder of shared values, collective history, and the ongoing commitment of JCI Ibadan to provide leadership development opportunities to develop young leaders who are prepared to serve and create lasting impact in our community
