As the Trade Union Congress and  Nigerian Labour Congress suspended proposed planned protest and strike action The Alliance for Surviving COVID-19 and Beyond,  ASCAB and Join Action Force,JAF today in Ibadan led scores of members of civil society group to protest against hike in fuel price and increase in electricity tariff in Nigeria.

The leadership of TUC and NLC earlier this morning announces the suspension of the protest after reaching agreements with representatives of the Federal government  on how to cushion the impacts of the increase in fuel price and electricity tariff in the country

In Ibadan Oyo state capital, scores of members of the group led by prominent activists in the state move round the state capital with chanting of anti-government song and placard with various inscriptions

Some of the inscriptions on the raised placards includes, ‘Removal of Fuel Subsidy is Fraud”, “Never Again, We say no to Corruption”, “Proper Funds for Education and Health”, ´We say no to corrupt leaders”  and so on

The team which is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report moved from University of Ibadan main gate to Bodija Market, Oje Market ,Yemetu, Mokola and other locations in Ibadan.
