INEC to Conduct Supplementary Election in Oyo on Saturday

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Oyo State is to conduct Supplementary Elections into two Federal Constituencies in the State.

They are Oluyole and Ibadan North East/ Ibadan South East on Saturday 15th April 2023.

In a Media Release today by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the State, Dr. Adeniran Rahman Tella, he noted that the affected Polling Units in Oluyole Local Government Area are Abbey Technical (RA02/U 001) and IDC School Olurinde (RA07/U 001) while that of Ibadan North East / Ibadan South East Local Government Area are Ile Aborisade Compound (RA07/U017) and Falana Mobil Station II (RA12/U032) respectively.

Dr. Tella further stated that, the supplementary elections in the four affected Polling Units became necessary as a result of malfunctioning of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in the last held Presidential/National Assembly Elections on Saturday 25th Feb. 2023 in the State.

Hon. REC however enjoined the electorate in the affected Polling Units to come out enmass to vote for the candidates of their choices with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on Saturday 15th April 2023 as from 8:30am to 2:30pm, adding that, adequate security of lives and property have been guaranteed by the security agencies in the affected areas.
