The Imperial House of Culture has described the Appointment of Otunba Dr. Gani Adams as the Aare Ona Kakanfo (Generalismo )of Yorubaland as a right decision taken in the interest of Yoruba race
In a congratulatory message signed by the Director General of the Organization and Erelu Asa of Yorubaland Duchess Funmi Rotiba ,Imperial noted the new position is not only deserving but a befitting honour for a passionate defender and promoter of Yoruba race, culture and tradition.’
‘ We don’t have many people like Otunba Adams in Yorubaland , Your contributions to the development of the race through cultural promotion both within and in the diaspora cannot be underestimated .
‘ Asides safeguarding Yoruba race through activities of the Oodua Peoples Congress, Efforts of the Oodua Progressives Union a diaspora organization which is championing the promotion of Yoruba culture in the diaspora is another great step that makes Otunba Gani Adams worthy of his new title.’
‘ With your new title of Aare Ona Kakanfo you are expected to do more for Yoruba race and we are optimistic that you will not fail in discharging your responsibilities as a leader in region.’
‘We are sure that you will not betray the confidence reposed in you by His imperial Majesty Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo and other custodians of customs and tradition who consider you worthy of the prestigious Aare Ona Kakanfo.’
The Group however pledges their unallowed support for Otunba Adams and Olokun Festival Foundation in promoting Yoruba Culture and traditions both at home and in the diaspora.
