In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and community spirit, Impact Guild Ladies Outreach (IGLO), a dedicated non-governmental organization, visited the Agodi Correctional Centre on Wednesday to provide food and essential items to the inmates.
The NGO, led by President Princess Funmi Alli-Kayode, who is known for her unwavering commitment to children and society, was warmly received by the prison wardens.
Apart from the 1200 packed meals (jollof rice and beef, accompanied by water) for the inmates, and 1000 packed meals for the prison wardens the NGO also donates Toiletries and soaps, 10 cartons of sanitary pads Bibles, 1,000 copies of Evangelist Kikelomo Alli’s books and various household items
The outreach began in the female inmates section, where the IGLO members offered words of encouragement and prayers, distributing the donated materials with care and empathy. They then proceeded to the male section, providing similar support and comfort to the male inmates.
The atmosphere was charged with emotion, as many visitors were visibly moved by the conditions faced by the inmates. The group collectively prayed for divine intervention and mercy, seeking hope for those who often feel forgotten.
IGLO President,Funmi Alli-Kayode in her remark said the we are leaving this correctional facility with a renewed sense of purpose and compassion, grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. “we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all members, donors, and supporters who contributed to the success of this outreach.
Also the representative of the Controller General Agodi prison said,
“This is encouraging. May the Lord continue to strengthen you and replenish your purse in Jesus’ name. In fact, our controller sends her regards and asked me to say thank you to you.”
