The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has described the death of a one term Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala has a rude shock and unbelievable.
Hon. Ige stated this in a condolence message he sent to the family of the late Governor who died in the early hour of today Wednesday 12th Jan.
Ige who said he was devastating, perturbed and found the news of his death unbelievable when it was broke to him, noted that Akala made indelible mark in the annal of Oyo State politics and Nigeria as a whole.
Ige pointed out that having worked closely with him when he was deputy Governor and when he appointed him as his Senior Special Assistant on Youth, Sports and Social Development as a Governor, he can conveniently say that Akala was generous, accommodating and humane during his lifetime.
Ige, who recalled that Otunba Alao Akala was nicknamed “ATM” or “OYATO” because of his generosity and philanthropic gesture, stressed that he would be missed for this attributes and many more he was known for.
He enjoined his admirers and political associates all over the country to take a cue from the life of selfless service he lived.
Ige, who is the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland prayed God Almighty to grant him eternal rest and grant his immediate family, Ogbomoso indigenes and the entire Oyo State the fortitude to bear the loss.
