In a momentous convergence of faith, culture, and media, Ilaji 91.9 FM, one of Ibadan’s newest and fastest-growing radio stations, played host to His Eminence, Sheikh Abdulganiy Abubakry Agbotomokekere, the Grand Imam of Oyo State, during a live special Ileya broadcast earlier today.
The revered Islamic scholar, who also serves as the Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, made a significant appearance that marks a milestone for the station—further cementing its reputation as a leading voice in Oyo State’s media space.
Ilaji 91.9 FM operates as the media arm of the prestigious Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, a visionary initiative of the Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi. With a mission rooted in community development, cultural preservation, and impactful storytelling, the station continues to carve a distinctive niche among listeners across the region.
On arrival, the Grand Imam was warmly received by the General Manager of Ilaji Resort, Mr. Riliwan Akinola, alongside a delegation from the Ilaji Muslim community. Notable among the welcoming party were Imam Badmus Mubarak Ololade, Mr. Yekeen Adeoye, and Alhaja Adekumbi-Sanusi Morufat, who delivered goodwill messages on behalf of the management.
