The Yoruba Youth Council (YYC), the has condemned the position of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum on the stance of Afenifere and yoruba leaders over an alledged one sided arrest made by the police on the recent crisis at Ile ife.
The group in a statement signed by its president, Eric Oluwole and the publicity secretary Dare Oladeinde said ‘ the statement credited to Sani Yerima is a reflection of the fact that the group and its leadership are being economical of the truth about the yorubas and also unconected with the history of ethnic crissis in the country,if not, how could he,a beneficiary of yoruba’s ethnic tollerance and economic stability openly and unculturally attack the yoruba leaders for saying the truth’.
while calling for retraction of the statement YYC said ‘We however challenge Yerima and his cohorts to disprove the allegations rather than voicing for his masqurade masters also warning him and his sponshors to desist from uttering provocative utterances that could undermine the peace in the country as we cautiously observing the trends of events and vigillantly prepared to protect our land and the people against any external oppresions’
‘We are also calling on Nigerian Police to ensure free and fair investigation into the Ife crissis and also usher peace with justice as we would not fold our arms against any attempt to confine our people to refugee on their fatherland’
