As part of effort toward improving the living condition of the people, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government Area, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has sunk borehole for Arowasaye community, Bataki Idiya, Ward 5 area of the Council, on Wednesday.

The project, according to the Council Chairman, is in fulfillment of the promise made to the people, and an effort being made at solving the problems of water challenges in the area.

Speaking with journalists on the development, Adeojo maintained that the plight of the people of the community was becoming unbearable in terms of getting water to use in their different households, hence the need to embark on such intervention.

Adeojo assured that he will continue to execute people-oriented projects aimed at positively impacting on the lives of the people of his Council area to complement the efforts of the state government.

In his words: “Again, I am happy seeing this happen here today. I have many achievements I can boast of and I am glad that this is being included in the list.

“I believe this project will help reduce the problem of water scarcity and improve the standard of living of our people. This project is not the first and it will not be the last. We have constructed motorised boreholes in a number of communities in the council. We sunk one in a community at Apete recently, and this is coming up again here.

“All these are meant to improve on the health, socio-economic activities and the standard of living of our people.”

“We are here as part of our constitutional responsibilities to do what is right in the current administration and effectively finance local government project, which is what we are doing.

“My aim is to reposition Ido local government system for effective service delivery in the state,” he said.

Adeojo, however, called on the community not to be deterred by the election exercise, which has been postponed by a week, but come out en masse to vote for the governor for continuity of good governance in the local government area and the state at large.
