Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Boys Association, Aperin Oniyere on Saturday 3rd February 2024 celebrated the 64th Founder’s day anniversary.
The event which also doubles as the Annual ICAGSOBA reunion day was held at the school premises at Aperin- Oniyere
Highlights of the event includes Career talk session for students and a Symposium which brought together members of the Association across all sets.
The symposium was moderates by Professor Olalekan Obisesan
In his opening remarks, the ICAGSOBA President – Dr. Morohunkola Thomas enumerates the contributions of members of the Association towards the academic advancement of the school.
He announced a 5 year scholarship for a student of the school that recently gained admission into the Federal University of Technology Akure where he is to study Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
He maintained that this are some of the interventions the Association will be going into after the launching of an endowment fund. In his words ” _All the efforts of the Association is geared towards ensuring academic excellence of the students”_
While delivering his paper on the Theme of the Symposium
STRATEGIES AND TACTICS OF MANAGING PERSONAL AND FAMILY FINANCES AT A TIME LIKE a guest speaker Barrister Oyegoke Oyewale called on members to be more intentional in the management of their finances at this time.
He suggested communalism as a creative method to manage finances as this allows for leveraging on the power of more. He advocated for godliness and contentment as this is the hallmark of a successful financial management.
The ICAGSOBA President, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas who also presented a paper on behalf of Dr. Olusegun Fatoki of 1975 set, on the theme of this year symposium, enjoined members to be informed and maintain awareness of evolving financial trends so that judicious decisions concerning personal and family finances can be made in an informed manner.
During the Career talk session earlier held with the students, the immediate past Commissioner for Education in Oyo state and current chairman Oyo State Education trust fund Barrister Abiodun Abdulrahaman enjoined the students to make a decision on what they want to become in the future. He advised them to look inward as they have potentials to be great in life.
3,500 exercise books were presented to the School by the 1998 & 2003 sets during the Anniversary celebration as part of thier contributions to the school.
