The Old Students Association of Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School (ICAGSOBA) hosted its 2024 Prize Giving Day Program.
The annual celebration of academic excellence was held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the school premises
The highly anticipated event which was well attended by dignitaries, parents, and members of the Association, recognized the outstanding achievements of more than 60 students and teachers with various awards.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of laptops and cash prizes to the overall best students for 2023 and 2024, Ajao Isreal Oludoyin and Abdullahi Kafayat Dasola, respectively.
In his keynote address, the President of the old students’ body Barrister Morohunkola Thomas praised the various members of the Association for making the program a resounding success.
He emphasized that the Annual Prize Giving Day Program aims to foster academic excellence among students.
To further enhance academic performance, the President noted the Academic Development Committee set up by the current Executive of the Association has explored innovative initiatives to boost student achievement. This he noted will be an ongoing exercise to bring out the best in the students.
Pastor Leye Adefioye, Chairman of the Prize Giving Day Committee, stressed the importance of providing quality education to all children, regardless of their background. He urged parents to offer their children unwavering support, emphasizing that education is the cornerstone of a brighter future.
The event drew notable guests, including set governors, chapter representatives, parents, and Association members.
According to Mr. Rotimi Obe, Secretary of the Planning Committee, “This year’s Prize Giving Day Program reinforces ICAGSOBA’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence and empowering future leaders.”
