The Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Boys Association (ICAGSOBA) has elected new executives

the election which was held on October 1, 2024 during Annual General Meeting (AGM) and General Elections brought together representatives from unprecedented 35 sets.

Dr Morohunkola Thomas emerged the president of the association with 127 votes, defeating Engr. Adewumi Oyekola who secured 40 votes. Other elected executives include:

Elder Funsho Adedokun, (National Treasurer),Mr. Rotimi Obe (Assistant General Secretary) , Mr. Oyelakin Oyeyinka Olurotimi(Financial) Secretary and Mr. Ayinde Olumuyiwa Abiola (Auditor 2)

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Sir Dr. Kehinde Oladeji, declared the return of all elected candidates and later presented Certificates of Return to all winners, officially confirming their positions after which Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Nath Agunbiade swore in the new Executive Council, which will serve from 2024 to 2028.

The event was graced by goodwill messages from distinguished personalities, including Chief Olawore Adeagbo, the school’s first Senior Prefect, and past presidents Elder Sola Osotoye and Surv S. T. Okebukola. Additionally, Dr. Segun Fatoki delivered a heartfelt goodwill message, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective progress in ICAGSOBA’s continued growth.

Rev. Bunmi Alausa of the USA Chapter expressed sincere appreciation for the former Executive Council’s dedication and tireless efforts, highlighting their significant contributions to ICAGSOBA’s advancement.

Pastor Solomon Oladokun and Elder Funsho Adedokun presented the Secretary’s and Financial Reports, respectively, highlighting ICAGSOBA’s achievements and financial standings in the past year.

Re-elected President Dr. Morohunkola Thomas highlighted the previous Executive’s successes, emphasizing academic excellence and improvement. Thomas assured that infrastructure development, including dilapidated structures and the school perimeter fence, will be addressed in the coming years. A 65th Anniversary Organizing Committee has been established to oversee infrastructure interventions.

Dr. Thomas urged all members to support the incoming leadership in taking ICAGSOBA to greater heights. With its historic AGM/Elections, ICAGSOBA has set a new benchmark for unity and growth, cementing its position as a leading alumni association in Nigeria.
