The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has extended warm greetings to its esteemed customers and the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
In a goodwill message signed by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Francis Agoha, the company emphasized the significance of Eid-ul-Adha as a festival symbolizing sacrifice, obedience, and love, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
Engr. Agoha prayed for peace, unity, and blessings across all communities, while urging customers to prioritize safety in their use of electricity during and beyond the festive season. He cautioned against unsafe practices such as illegal connections, overloading sockets, and tampering with electrical installations, warning that such actions could lead to serious accidents.
“It is both illegal and dangerous to trade, live, or work near electricity installations,” he warned. “Avoid driving under the influence or flouting traffic rules, as these can lead to collisions with electrical infrastructure and other tragic outcomes.”
The IBEDC boss also appealed to communities to remain vigilant and protect electrical installations from vandalism. He advised customers to report any suspicious activity and avoid engaging unqualified personnel to handle electrical issues.
Reaffirming IBEDC’s commitment to improved service delivery, Engr. Agoha assured customers that the company’s technical teams are on standby to ensure stable power supply throughout the holiday. “We have enhanced our rapid response mechanisms to address faults and complaints swiftly,” he said. “Our Customer Care lines – 07001239999 – will be active throughout the holiday.”
He further announced the recent upgrade of the IBEDCPay App and other digital platforms, which now offer easier access to bill payments and service requests. Customers can also use alternative payment platforms such as iRecharge, Fetswallet, Quickteller, Buypower, and various bank apps to ensure uninterrupted service.
In addition, IBEDC offices will remain open during the public holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while customers can also reach out via email at customercare@ibedc.com.
Engr. Agoha expressed appreciation for the continued support, cooperation, and trust of IBEDC’s customers, reiterating the company’s dedication to building a more efficient, reliable, and customer-focused electricity distribution system.
