The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens to embrace unity, responsibility, and collective action in the task of building a greater Nigeria.
In a statement signed by its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Francis Agoha, IBEDC said the anniversary theme, “Nigeria at 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” reflects the need for collective responsibility in nation-building.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to national development by improving power supply, responding promptly to customer complaints, and bridging the metering gap across its franchise.
“IBEDC recognizes that a sustainable power sector is central to economic advancement, industrial growth, and improved quality of life,” the statement read.
While appealing to customers to refrain from energy theft, vandalism of electricity infrastructure, and to ensure prompt payment of electricity bills, IBEDC also advised Nigerians to be safety-conscious. It urged parents to supervise children to prevent electrical accidents, traders to avoid doing business under high-tension wires, and customers to engage only qualified electricians for repairs.
The company assured that its technical teams have been fully mobilized to address any service disruptions during the holiday, while offices will remain open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Customers were also encouraged to use its e-payment platforms for seamless transactions and to contact its 24/7 Customer Care channels via 0700 123 9999 or customercare@ibedc.com.
“As Nigeria celebrates this historic milestone, IBEDC urges all citizens to embrace unity, responsibility, and collective action in building the Nigeria of our dreams. Together, we can power a greater nation,” the statement concluded.
