The Polytechnic, Ibadan on Tuesday matriculated its first set of Open Distance and Flexible e-learning (ODFel) students.
The 2022/2023 ODFeL students of the institution were admitted into Faculty of Business and Communication Studies (FBCS), Faculty of Financial Management Studies (FFMS), and Faculty of Science.
Speaking at the event, the Rector of the institution, Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi said the institution is one of the foremost tertiary and referred institution by many applicants seeking admission into Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria.
He stated that The Polytechnic, Ibadan ODFeL gives students freedom to learn from anywhere, anytime and enables them to deal with office, businesses, family, and other constraints that may affect their conventional study at the
campus.
According to him, “ODFeL have many advantage which include study from anywhere at any time, our programs are available on line, so you may
study whenever and from anywhere you choose.”
“Others are easy course access, affordable tuition and flexible payments, uninterrupted academic calerndar, same certificates as Full Time, NYSC Mobilization of Graduands and accredited academic programmes among others.”
He urged the newly matriculated students to abide with moral conduct of the institution, saying the institution cherishes its hard earned name and image.
He said, “Students are expected to respect the rules and regulations of the institution as breaching of these would attract appropriate sanctions. The institution expects all students to behave responsibly.”
He however cautioned the students to spend their time wisely so that they can come out with good grades, saying using their precious time to ping
or browse for items that would not be of academic value to them is time wasting.
He therefore thanked the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his unparalleled love for education and special love for the institution.
