As part of the efforts towards ensuring peace and security in Ibadanland, the Ibadan Compounds Peace Initiative on Tuesday donated four brand New motorcycles to Ibadan Security volunteers of the forum.
The compound peace initiative, whose aim was to end hooligalism among youths and forestall peace and security in Ibadanland noted that the items donated would assist the volunteers to discharged their duties accordingly.
Speaking at Oja’ba Palace of Olubadan during the official presentation of the motorcycles to the volunteers, the forum coordinator, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade of Onilari, Oopo Yeosa noted that the initiative has been yielding positive results since it’s creation few months ago.
Also speaking at the Event, the CCII President General, Prince Yemisi Adeaga who also doubled as the Chairman of the Initiatives noted that the forum comprises of our respected High Chiefs, Senior Chiefs, and other traditional Chiefs as well as Mogajis, and Leaders of volunteers from various part of Ibadanland who formed the ‘neighborhood security volunteers’.
In his remark, the President Association of Mogajs of Ibadanland, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori Orisapetu commended Engineer Dotun Sanusi, who has spent millions of naira from his personal resources to support the volunteers to sustain peace and security in Ibadaland.
The trio of Oloye (Barr) Lowo Obisesan , Oloye Adegoke Adegboyega and Oloye Ademola Adewuyi Odunade who made symbolic presentations of Key to the Various beneficiary Groups also thanked Hon Dapo Lam-Adeshina for his donations of additional one motocycle to the three initially bought by the forum for the volunteers.
The initiatives Coordinator therefore commended the Oyo State Police Command, particularly the SIB Unit, for the training and re-training of the volunteers.
