Ibadan Celebrates Ex-Commissioner of Police, AIG Ademola Hamzat, Over Peaceful Reign in Oyo

Prominent sons and daughters of Ibadan gathered at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort to honor and celebrate the former Commissioner of Police and current Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Adebola Hamzat for his remarkable contributions to maintaining peace and security in Oyo State.

The event, spearheaded by Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Chairman and CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, highlighted AIG Hamzat’s tenure and his significant impact on community policing. In his opening remarks, Chief Sanusi commended Hamzat for his professionalism and dedication to enhancing the security landscape of the state.

“His commitment to community policing has been exemplary, and his efforts have greatly contributed to the peace we enjoy today in Oyo State,” Sanusi remarked. “We are here to celebrate not just his professional achievements, but also his personal integrity and unwavering dedication to the people of this state.”

The celebration saw the attendance of many notable Ibadan personalities, who came to pay tribute to AIG Hamzat’s legacy. The atmosphere was filled with admiration and gratitude as various speakers took turns to laud his efforts in fostering a secure environment.

In his speech, Chief Sanusi urged Hamzat’s successor to sustain the security architecture established during his tenure. “It’s imperative that the new leadership continues to build on the foundation laid by AIG Hamzat. His approach to security has proven effective, and continuity is crucial for the continued safety of our communities.”

The event also featured cultural performances and a presentation of gifts to AIG Hamzat, symbolizing the community’s appreciation for his service. In his response, Hamzat expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and pledged his ongoing support to efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security in Oyo State.
