The Senator representing Kogi West at the National Assembly Senator Dino Melaye has vowed to continue to speak the truth and to defend the masses against injustice, oppression and bad governance, saying that nobody can shut him up as a citizen of Nigeria

Dino in  “Thank You Message” to Nigerians for the massive support and solidarity extended to him while he was being persecuted by the Nigerian Police also thanked the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, his fellow lawmakers at the two chambers, governors, traditional rulers, members of the diplomatic corps, journalists, Kogites and others, saying he was overwhelmed by the love he was shown while his travails lasted.

It would be recalled that the senator has been having rough ride with the Nigerian Police and the Kogi State government for sometimes now. While the Police had initiated criminal cases against him, the Kogi State government was alleged to be behind moves to recall him which recently came to an end when only about 5% of registered voters in his senatorial zone signed the recall document.

In the letter dated 21st May, 2018 which he signed personally, Senator Melaye said that his experience in the last week few weeks has taught him good lessons and prepared him for the task ahead which he said is to continue to speak the truth and be on the positive side of history

“I have been brought to the dead-end street but with you standing by my side, I have turned around and bounced back to the chagrin of those who sought to seal my lips from speaking out against tyranny, politics of oppression and blackmail. They, unleashed an endless barrage of physical, psychological, metaphysical and emotional torture and assault on me, but, through the power of the Most High, and you the good people of Nigeria, we have once again, seen the triumph of truth over lies and good over evil.”
