Some member of Oodua Peoples Congres OPC on Sunday morning claims they have arrested Iskilu Wakili one of the Herdsmen fingered in the attack and abduction of people ibarapa axis of Oyo state
A 75 Years Old blind man and three other Herdsmen were sighted in a video being circulated on the social media.
The state cordinator Rotimi Olumo said wakili and his gang was arrested in his hideout around Igboora with some of his allied.
He added that some of the OPC Members who risked their life to arrest him have also been arrested as taken to Criminal Investigative Department CID in oyo state while Wakili and his team are in the custody of police Eleyele.
Olumo while explaining how Wakili was arrested said, his men were have been surveiling the area for some times now and an attempt was made to arrest him few days ago but he escaped .
Our men got the hint that he returned from cotonou yesterday where he had gone for eye suggery so they traill him and eventually got to the forest where he uses as base, Immediate he sighted our boiz his boys started shoting at them severally at them but they were not injured because of their determination they pursue him and arrest him, some of his allied were arrested too and they are now with the Police.
Olumo said ” We have been on this for long, we are concerned about the incessant attack on our people by the bandit but we decided not to make noise about our strategy, today we have been able to arrest their leader, peace will return to Ibarapa and Oyo state at large.
OPC had on February 27 arrested the second-in-command to the alleged dreaded kidnapper, one Isiaka Muhammadu.
Reacting to the development, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere commended OPC for the arrest of Wakilu.
The National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, in a statement on Sunday, said, “Afenifere gives tremendous commendation to OPC under Iba Gani Adams for the arrest of iskilu Wakilu, a Fulani bandit who has been spreading terror on our people in Igboho area and the Nigerian Police and other security agencies unable to do anything about him.
