Hon Segun Dokun  Odebunmi Chairman House of Reps, Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Value has said the teachers should be pride and treated as  the most important people in the world

Odebunmi who represents Surulere Ogo Oluwa  at the national assembly said anybody that undermines their roles in the society does it at his or her own peril.

The All Progressives Congress APC chieftain said this in his message to the teachers on the world teachers day 2020

According to him, teacher deserve  improved welfare package and  social security as well as uninterrupted pension plans that will make them eat the fruits of their labour without stress

“ It is quite unfortunate today that teachers are not enjoying what they should without any  stress due to many factors  but we thank God that despite the challenges  and inadequate care from government, they still diligently discharge their responsibilities in order to make a better society

“ We are all product of teachers, we should celebrate them and  prioritize their welfare

Hon Odebunmi recalled  how he place education and teacher’s matter on “A lists’ when he was a council chairman in Surulere Local Government which later influenced his appointment as full time commissioner at TESCOM’

“ Since my first tenure at  the  National Assembly I have been making case for teachers welfare and contributing greatly to the advancement of education in my constituency  through construction  of classrooms, provision of educational materials, financial assistants  schools promotion of sports among the students as well as financial support and facilitation of loans to  some teachers”

While calling for improved welfare for teachers, Hon Odebunmi enjoined them to be more diligent in their service to humanity and contributions to the socio-economic goals of the Nation
