The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has been commended for appointing the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olaniyan Babatunde David as the Sole Administrator for Shooting Stars Football club (3SC).
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige stated this while hosting the new appointee, Hon. Olaniyan popularly known as ‘Akoro’ in his office this afternoon, describing his appointment as a round peg in a round hole.
Hon. Olaniyan visited Ademola Ige in his office shortly after he received his letter of appointment signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun this afternoon.
Hon. Ademola Ige said that Governor Makinde has further confirmed his interest in the affairs of the 3SC football club with the appointment of a technocrat like Olaniyan to head the club.
Hon. Ige further said that Olaniyan deserved the appointment going by his experience as a retired grade one referee and a founder of Oyo State Football Referee Academy.
He noted that as a tested and trusted personality, he is sure that Olaniyan will definitely bring his wealth of experience as sports enthusiasts to bear in the task of taking 3sc to greater heights.
Hon. Olaniyan was a former Deputy Speaker and two term honourable member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North State constituency I.
Part of Hon. Olaniyan Babatunde appointment’s letter dated 24th February, 2022 reads: I am delighted to inform you that the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, has graciously approved your appointment as a Sole Administrator for Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), with effect from 24th February, 2022.
While heartily congratulating you in your appointment which must be seen as a call to service, His Excellency, as well as Government expects that you will discharge your duties with absolute loyalty, dedication and diligence.’
