Thousands of Indigene and residents of Ondo town troop our enmass to welcome the immediate past governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko back home having successfully served the state for 8 years.
Various groups with colourful traditional attires flooded the streets of Ondo city; singing and dancing to receive Mimiko while market women and traders did closes shop solely because of the carnival.
Mimiko was accompanied by his political associate and supporters who moved in a long convoy of over 100 vehicles.
The former governor who was received by mammoth crowd at Boluwaduro proceeded to The Redeemed Church of God, Power Sanctuary, Ondo for a thanksgiving service and later to the Osemawe’s palace.
Fadekemi, a traders who spoke with our reporter on why she and her fellow traders did not open their shops,said “Mimiko is a worthy son of Ondo Kingdom, we are proud of his achievements”
His tenure made things easy for women in the state, look at the number of stalls and market he built, what about the Abiye, many people would have die of simple ailment if not for his magnanimity to simplify health care delivery in the state God bless him for us”
Friends and associates of the governor also move in from far and near to be part of the heroic homecoming
